The 2017 Republic of Chad Egyptian Relic Series King Tut Gold Coin is now available. Scottsdale Mint strikes these coins on behalf of the Republic of Chad, made apparent by the prominent display of Chad’s Coat of Arms on their obverses. The first gold coin under the Egyptian Relic Series was issued in 2015.
With a limited mintage of 10,000 coins, these 2017-issue coins will prove hard to find very soon! Each of these 2017 King Tut Gold Coins contains 1 troy ounce of 0.9999 pure gold. Moreover, they also carry face values of 3,000 Francs (CFA) each – highlighting the official backing by a sovereign government – the Republic of Chad.
The obverses of these gold coins feature the right-profile hieroglyph of King Tutankhamen, also known as King Tut. Similar caricatures were discovered on the walls of the boy king’s tomb, when it was discovered years ago. The rustic finish of the coin adds undefinable character to this side of the coin, making it seem infinitely more regal.
On the other hand, the reverse sides of these coins display the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Chad. This depiction is accompanied by the name of the issuing country, weight and purity of the gold in the coin, the year of issue, and its legal tender value.
