The Silver American Eagle is only second in global trade to the GAE. The silver coin is quite beautiful and features Lady Liberty in full stride.
The authenticity of the SAE is never questioned and its price has made it one of the most attractive coins for investors that want to hedge against inflation or divert declining fiat dollars to a more tangible asset with a promising upside.
The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman featured on the coin’s obverse (heads) has long been a collector favorite. It depicts Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Refreshed in 2021, the design now incorporates some of Weinman’s original details that were not previously possible. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “2024,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
A completely new reverse (tails) design was introduced in 2021. It features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
